The Scimitar from Mr Hankey’s Toys is a dildo like no other—full of curves and scales and knobbly bits. It’s all a bit too much for me, but it might be exactly what you’re looking for.

Design
The Scimitar is not at all a beginner’s dildo—quite the opposite. It’s hard to describe because there’s just so much going on here. With a nicely tapered head, it curves up to hit your P or G spot quickly, but once you make it past the head, you’re immediately met by a first little knobbly tease of what’s to come.

Meanwhile, travel a little further down on the other side, and you’ll find a series of pronounced scaley ridges, each offering a little burst of stimulation on both the insertion and pulling out.

And that’s just looking at one profile: spin it 90 degrees, and you’ll see the head, center, and base all form their bulbous areas to stretch you—though I wouldn’t go so far as to call it knotted.

It’s one of the weirdest dildos I own, yet it has no backstory, nor can it be placed to any particular fantastical creature—though it definitely has a terrifying organic feel to it. And unlike, for instance, the Captain’s Hook—which looks somewhat like a captain’s hook—the scimitar doesn’t bear any resemblance to its namesake sword. I realize that perhaps the last thing you’re looking for in a dildo is an origin story, but I want to know what my cocks are modeled on. I want something solid to fantasize about while I’m riding them.
Size and Use
I knew the Scimitar was going to be a challenge even in the Medium size that I opted for, so I also chose the softer of the two firmnesses available at the time. On reflection, that might have been a mistake; it’s a little too floppy to push back against, and I think that’s due to all these curves. But it does make the knobbly bits a lot more forgiving. Hankey’s Toys now has two more firmness options, so I would probably opt for something in between the two.

In Medium size (as reviewed), the head measures 6.25” in circumference, with the widest point along the shaft 7.4”, and an overall insertable length of 7.75”. While none of those measurements are beyond what I would normally manage, I still found it tricky.
The smallest size Scimitar model is 6” at the widest point with 6.25” insertable, while the largest XXL size is 10” circumference and 10.5” inches insertable.

You can opt for a Vaculock cavity on the base, but good luck using this with a fucking machine or for pegging. Since it doesn’t have a suction cup otherwise, this is a useful addition nonetheless.

Like all Hankey’s Toys, the Scimitar is made of the highest-quality platinum-cure silicone available, which means it’s easy to clean and won’t react with other dildos or allow germs to seep into the material. But that said, it does have a lot of crevasses and textured areas, so you should take a little more care than usual when it comes to washing. Soap and water should be fine, but if you’re worried about smells, a large pan of boiling water with a little bleach or a dishwasher cycle without a tablet is also an easy option.

The Scimitar isn’t the sort of toy you’ll be thrusting vigorously with; it’s a slow fuck that challenges but ultimately satisfies, with a nicely pointed tip for your prostate, and textures to delight your hole (if you can handle them). It can be a sensory overload, but a long as you take it slow, ultimately quite fulfilling.
