Design and Size
As well as being great for manual play, Canter is handy to keep by the side of your bed and wallop any potential intruders with.
Available in three sizes, I opted for the largest. If you have any experience with fantasy toys, you might find they all run on the small side, though; it leans more towards the beginner end of the market for someone who wants either a double penetration experience, solo play, or something for their partner to grab hold of and fuck them with. That said, the knot is enormous no matter how you look at it—roughly the size of a tennis ball.
Canter isn’t just gorgeous because of the hybrid double-ended function; it also features a lovely realistic meaty coloration and super slick texture. While all silicone is bodysafe, some formulations seem to have a little rougher texture that takes more lube than usual, but toys like Canter have such a smooth surface that you need very little. Although a minor point, I especially love the little white line at the tips that looks like precum leaking out.
The key numbers to take away here are the knot on the canine side, which measures 7.5cm or 3 inches in diameter on the large, 5.9cm or 2.3 inches on the medium, and 5.1 or 2 inches on the small—that’s the most challenging part of the toy. Meanwhile, the flared tip of the equine side is 5.8cm or 2.3 inches in diameter on the large, down to 5.1cm or 2 inches on the small.
The overall length varies from 31cm or 12.2 inches on the large down to 22.5 or 9.6 inches on the small. If you split it in half mentally, it doesn’t seem all that much, because it isn’t really. Shown below is a comparison to an average 8-inch realistic dildo. With the tips aligned, the insertable part bottoms out just above the knot on the opposite side.
As a silicone dildo, it’s easy to clean with just soap and water, but it’s also safe to boil with a little bleach if you feel it needs a deeper clean.
How Does It Feel? (Spoiler: Amazing)
As for how it is in use, the canine side offers much easier initial insertion because of the triangular shape of the tip and overall thinner shaft—until you get to that enormous knot, which will stretch all but the most experienced players. Despite the overall smaller sizing of this beastly dildo, the actual knot is one of the biggest I’ve come across.
The equine side has a classic flared tip, which can be hard to insert at first, but once it’s in, it offers a sublime, almost soft scratching sensation as it moves through you.
For double penetration use, it almost feels a little too short—and this is the largest size. If one of you has swallowed up the knot, you’re left with perhaps 6 or 7 inches fuckable on the equine side. Anything smaller wouldn’t be usable. I wish it was a little longer; an inch or two would have been lovely.
For solo use or giving to a partner to use on you, it’s remarkable. What I love about it is not just the fact it’s two completely different shapes and sensations in one toy (most double-ended dildos are the same generic human dick design), but how quickly the canine side gets to the knot. I find a lot of knotted toys have a long shaft with the knot right down towards the base. If you’re not able to take the full length, you don’t even get to tackle the knot. Canter has a mere 3 inches (8cm) of easy insertion before you hit the knot. Once that’s in, it’s firmly plugged for your partner to enjoy the other end.
My favorite play with Canter was to let mistress use the equine side to rough fuck me thanks to the large grabby handle; then when I was relaxed and opened up, push that knot in and use it as a plug for whatever else came next.
Be sure to play safe, and don’t try to insert the entire length. As a double-ended toy, it doesn’t have a flared base, so it could potentially be dangerous. The risk is minimal, though, unless you’re experienced with depth play and stretching; there’s no way I would fit all of that up there.
Should You Add Canter to Your Stable?
If you think of it as a 2-in-1 toy—and you’re trying to limit the total number of toys you have and only buy something of quality—then I think Canter deserves a spot in your collection. There are bigger, longer equine dildos out there, and there are longer canine dildos, but this is the first time I’ve seen a 2-in-1 double-ended fantasy toy, and a really classy-looking one at that. It’ll appeal to those who want a slightly shorter-than-average double-ended dildo, or just a bit of a more unique experience. The slick texture that’s easy to lube, the meaty coloration… it way it invites you to grab either end and go to town. It’s sublime, and easily one of my top 5 toys.
